Follow these steps to ensure the Chat option works during an incoming Microsoft Teams call on iPhone.
- Allow Microsoft Teams Notifications
Go to: Settings → Notifications → Microsoft Teams
- Allow Notifications: ON
- Alerts: Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners
- Banner Style: Persistent
- Sounds: ON
- Badges: ON
- Turn OFF Silence Unknown Callers
Go to: Settings → Phone → Silence Unknown Callers
- Set this option to OFF
- Enable iOS Call Integration in TeamsOpen Microsoft Teams → Profile Picture → Settings → Calling
- Use iOS Call Integration: ON
- Enable Background App Refresh
Go to: Settings → General → Background App Refresh
- Background App Refresh: ON
- Microsoft Teams: ON
- Check Focus / Do Not Disturb Mode
Go to: Settings → Focus → Active Mode
- Allowed Apps: Add Microsoft Teams
- Allow Time-Sensitive Notifications: ON
- How to Access Chat During Incoming Call
- Tap the incoming Teams notification banner
- Once the call screen opens, tap the Chat icon
- You can send messages before answering or while the call is ringing
Important Note:
Due to iOS restrictions, chat may not appear if the call opens directly in full-screen system call UI. Always tap the notification banner to access chat.
